Essay- should students be expelled for cheating

As a survey in Armenia shows about 30 percent of students have cheated once and got away with it. In fact much more students cheat but they just don’t want to admit it. And as a matter of fact many schools expel students because they cheated. And right here I want to express my opinion about this problem.

First of all, I’d like to note that lots of students might stop cheating after they are caught and sometimes it’s even good to expel them. Usually their parents tell them off so that they realize their mistake and don’t cheat anymore.

On the other hand, when somebody is expelled other students are likely to start gossips about them like ‘ Did you know Dan cheated in 9th grade exams too’. And the worst thing about gossips is that they distort the truth. So in the end the student’s reputation is likely to get worse. Also the student can miss a lot of significant information that can lead to bad results, for example not understanding the following classes or even worse, the student can get a question at the exam and the topic can be unfamiliar for him.

To be honest I think that expelling students because of cheating is certainly the wrong thing to do. In fact students lose more than they gain. I think it isn’t necessary to say that this transaction is not profitable․
